Pennsylvania's New Ideas

Pennsylvania was one of the first colonies to really be actively kind to the Native Americans. Because William Penn was of the Quaker background he believed in justice for all beliefs. Penn also believed in free religious beliefs and was not a big fan of slaves. But many slaves managed to be brought to the colony by wealthy English. Penn also did not take any land from Indians without paying them.

Pennsylvania's Right Start

The history of Pennsylvania is quite interesting I must say. The colony was founded by a man by the name of William Penn between 1681-1682 who had received a land grant from King Charles II because Penn had lent the King money so Charles paid him back with a land grant. Penn was a Quaker and this was very controversial to many people. Pennsylvania had religious tolerance and many people came just for this reason and many more too. Some other reasons for coming to the colony of Pennsylvania was because the land and econnomics were amazing. Some of the economics included the fertile land, clean water sources, and the great number of fish and game to hunt.
